The good news difficult path

Thursday we met with the Oncologist and had a two hour informational class on the specific chemo treatment that is being recommended which is TC which stands for Taxotere and cyclophosphamide (tough choice.) This treatment has less long term health risks than AC chemo. Oh well to reduce the incalculable risk of recurrence somewhat and have 4 months of hell is the path that we are considering and most likely will take. This weekend we will continute to eat well (thanks to you all, hopefully take in a few movies at the AFI festival, and make the decision regarding the chemo. We tentatively scheduled AMP's first chemo treatment for November, 15th.

Oh decisions, decisions, decisions. I know you will make the right one.
I did the Santa Barbara Half Marathon yesterday - we raised over $ 300,000 for cancer research.
Have fun at the AFI Festival - lots of good movies. I'm catching up on grading.

"Pushing through" -- I remember that from I CHING -- seems this is that kind of time. The time will pass -- may the hug of surrounding love remain. I know it sounds weird -- but in times of deepest pain -- I have also found deep joy. May that joy fill your soul. Love, Gretta

It looks as if you'll be starting down a road that seems scary and dark (to me anyway *wink*), but keep in mind the glory at the end of that road. Think positive thoughts and carry all our love with you.

What a relief they found it in the early stages. YOU ARE A CANCER SUVIVOR. Love and friendship is what its all about--that's what I think. I'm sending you love and good wishes. I was helped (very much) by the information and books from the Lance Armstrong foundation and the American Cancer Society when I was being treated for ovarian cancer. http://www.livestrong.org

I'll send some nutrition research and chemo-coping tips in the mail.
